The Ravens Won Against the Chargers in the Harbaugh Bowl
Coach John Harbaugh of the Baltimore Ravens remained undefeated against his brother John after the victory over the Los Angeles Chargers 30-23. John has had the upper hand since the start of the latest Harbaugh Bowl and has made some bold calls. He also got a lot of help from quarterback Lamar Jackson.
Baltimore went 3-for-3 on fourth-down conversions, which helped John Harbaugh win 3-0 over his younger brother. According to the best sportsbook pay per head, all three drives ended in touchdowns. John and Jim had not faced each other as head coaches since Super Bowl XLVII eleven years ago, until last Monday night.
Among Jackson’s three touchdowns were runs of one and throws of forty and six yards. As a “Monday Night Football” quarterback, Jackson had the longest streak of touchdown passes without an interception in nine games. After a 6-4 record, the Ravens are within half a game of the eighth-ranked Steelers (8-3) in the American Football Conference North.

Derrick, the running back, Henry keeps proving that Baltimore wins when it gives him the ball. Now, whenever Henry has 15 carries or more, the Ravens are 9-1. Henry became only the second player in Chargers history to carry for more than 100 yards, with 140 yards on 24 attempts. However, Henry hadn’t failed to score in 12 games before this. His touchdown-scoring run was just short of the third-longest in NFL history, behind only Hall of Famers Jerry Rice, John Riggins, and LaDainian Tomlinson.
Tight end Mark Andrews took a direct snap and advanced to convert a fourth-and-1 at the Baltimore 16-yard line with two minutes remaining in the first half, allowing the Ravens to cash in on a significant risk. In the first half, no team had converted a fourth down so deep in their territory since the 2012 Rams, who fake punted, according to people who bet on football. Four plays later, the Ravens took the lead for the first time at 14-10 when quarterback Lamar Jackson completed a long pass to Rashod Bateman for 40 yards. Against Jim Harbaugh’s 49ers in 2012, the Los Angeles Rams converted.
In the first few minutes of the second quarter, Baltimore was behind 10-0. However, under Jackson’s leadership, the Ravens went on five consecutive drives, scoring four times. It was against a Chargers defense that hadn’t let a team score 30 points all season and was first in the fewest points allowed (14.5). Four victories for the Ravens this season, despite being down by ten, are tied for the most by any club in a complete season since 2000.
Los Angeles Chargers
The youth and inexperience of the Chargers’ receiving corps took a back seat as the team raced off to a 7-3 start. Quentin Johnston, the team’s star receiver and a much-maligned first-round rookie, looked to be getting back on track after scoring six touchdowns. Ladd McConkey, a rookie receiver, became one of the greatest in the league and Justin Herbert’s primary target. Herbert had a reliable safety valve in wide receiver Joshua Palmer, who made big receptions on crucial downs.
That all changed, though, on Monday night. Herbert completed a successful cross-field pass to a wide-open Johnston, but Johnston lost the ball as the Chargers were down seven points on their 34-yard line.
Running back Justice Hill of the Ravens scored a touchdown from 51 yards out on the following play, putting the game away. It was the finish the Chargers were used to last year but had been missing for the first ten games of this year.
