Manila, the Philippines, will host this season’s Honor of Kings Invitational. This year, the event will take place at SM City North EDSA. From the preliminary round to the championship match, every game will be played at the exact location.
Honor of Kings Invitational Season 3
The three teams who competed in the Honor of Kings Invitational Season 3 will share a $300,000 prize fund according to their final rankings. The detailed allotment is as follows:
- Champion: $100,000
- 2nd Place: $50,000
- 3rd to 4th place: $25,000
- 5th to 8th place: $12,500
- 9th to 12th place: $10,000
In the Group Stage, each group will have three teams: one seeded (Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, and the winner of the Americas Qualifier) and two unseeded. All three squads will play each other in a round-robin format with best-of-five matchups. The top two teams in each group will advance to the next round, while the team with the worst record will be eliminated.
The knockout stage will use a single-elimination tournament format with a best-of-seven series. The teams that win their groups will be given seeding, and in the quarterfinals, you won’t encounter teams that finished in the same group.
The Global Ban-pick System will be used in every tournament series. Honor of Kings eSports will begin using it for all official tournaments that Tencent organizes this year and beyond. Due to its inherent calculated risk, this system will be implemented for the first time worldwide during Season 3 of the Honor of Kings Invitational.
If a hero is selected in a game by one of the two teams, they cannot be employed again by either team in the subsequent games of that match, according to the Global Ban-pick System. This results in a ban of 10 heroes for the next game and an additional penalty of 10 for every game played. Not included here are the customary prohibitions imposed during the draft phase.
